The final judgement

You all know that Guido got an MiP (Minor in Possession of toxicant) for taking a sip of a beer. (For the full story read Our evening out... and the arrest)Yesterday he needed to appear in court for this matter and Jules and I went to the courthouse to support our fugitive and got a look at the American lawsystem.

Unfortunately I was not able to take pictures in the courtroom but basicly it's just a room where a lot of people are waiting for the judge to call their name and their crimes are read to them after they can either pleat guilty or not guilty.
After two hours of waiting Guido was finally called forward and pleated guilty which resulted in the following punishment:
- Court fine $22,50
- MiP $200
- Alcohol rehab program
Funny thing about the court is that there are a lot of people waiting for their name to be called and there's even arrested people in court in nice orange prisonsuits. If you don't show up to court in the United States, they may put out a warrant for your arrest after which you obviously get arrested and thrown in jail untill the next hearing starts...

Hoe bevalt het Jules, Guido en Patrick verder in USA? Zijn jullie al goed gewend of is het toch wel ff heel anders en willen jullie liever naar huis?

het bevalt hier perfect, we zijn zo goed als gewend aan het leven hier in Missouri, wat vooral opvalt is dat de stof redelijk "eenvoudig" is op een aantal vakken na (zoals de klassen van Jackie Lamer) maar zelfs daar scoren we goed (in mijn geval 88% op een paper van 10 pagina's met een siteanalyse)
