First of all, you guys of course all know that yesterday (for you guys 2 days ago) was Halloween and you guys also know that it is kind of a big thing in the United States, I even decorated the website to give it a little bit of a Halloween theme.I can not help posting pictures on this website, they say so much more than writing stuff down, enjoy:

Jeaneth Puriel is about to be killed by a bunch of international creatures

Well needless to say that our dinner didn't work out the way we have normal dinners.

This vampire joined us later on in the evening (and we ended up playing guitar

whatever....

Guido's new obsession... eating swords

And Monty Python was in the house too, the black night obviously stole the kings' coconuts.

Even the little ones go dressed up, this kid didn't understand it all yet though

Ghostface and Gomez Adams posing outside of Franken Hall

I wonder what this killer is up too...

That is more like it

We, the international students where asked to raise the flag from our own country on international plaza on North West Missouri State University.Obviously we considered this as a big honor and took the liberty to raise our flags. Below are some pictures of the ceremony.

ps.
Most of these photographs are not shot by me, so credit goes to the people that actually did shoot them.

Guys (I'm sorry this post is not really for the girls xD), while being out of inspiration I got many messages telling me that I should post some girls on my blog, well here y'all go:
actually this is an oldie taken some time ago, Sophie is headbanging and I love the way this shot turned out.

Sorry Travis, I know you are not a girl but this is the only picture I did have of your girlfriend.
Kansas City

Yesterday we spent the day in and around Kansas City . As you all know a picture says more than a 1000 words so sit back and enjoy...
Arriving in Kansas City (shot taken from the bus)

When we arrived a big car event was going on so I took the liberty of taking some shots from that too.

A classic movietheatre in the american style

A big office complex

A statue outside of Mc Donalds, illustrating the American culture

Streetlife (and some very cool traffic lights)

Are we in Italy now? Nope.. this is still the Kansas City plaza

Starbucks coffee, very very very good coffee and about as American as it gets.

Vincent van Gogh in the museum of art, Kansas City

Badminton shuttlecocks in the garden of that same museum.

A very scary rollercoaster in the themepark "Worlds of fun" that is based on the stories created by Jules Verne

Oh yea, I'm famous in Kansas City too :d
Random silliness

Just a collection of photo's of sillines on North West Missouri State University

Being girly (and stupid enough) to put on some cream to get a facemask. It actually felt pretty strange as the pictures may show

Chilling at some bbq in the evening just before everybody left.
It's peanutbutter jelly time!

Jules and me having some fun in a bar...

If you have a cross on your hand, you can not drink

Think I was a bit bored at Applebee's here

The three dutch on yet another epic adventure

My first soccer game
posted by Helmet on 09-10-2006 at 06:52 - 1 comment
Ah well today I had my first "real" friendly soccergame in the United States, unfortunately there were not any pictures taken because the opponent showed up 2 hours late. Anyway I'm going to tell a bit about the game. After waiting for about 2 hours our opponent finally showed up with 1 guy short so we had to hand one of our own players to their team.
The first 45 minutes were quite intense with chances from both sides, one of my shots went over by a hair and I had several good assists which lead to no scores though :(
In the second half however things went bad, in the first 10 minutes we got 2 goals (1 from a penalty) against. After 10 minutes I was put back in the game and back in my attack position.
I scored once, but the goal was not counted because the referee had seen a handsball (which I didn't) from a fellow-teammate after which I shot the ball in the net.
Things got worse when an own goal occured out of a cornerkick and finally got topped of by another case of bad defending which resulted in 0-4.
I was and am dead after the game, played most of the 90 minutes and my legs were killing me, next time I'm sure I'm going to score a goal that actually counts as well...
Sorry for the lack of pictures :(
